About Mimi
Hi, I’m Mimi, a lettering artist born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and now creating from Newton, Massachusetts, USA.
Lettering has always been at the heart of my creative voice. Alongside an ongoing career in administration and finance, I have built a practice centered on custom lettering, calligraphy, and illustration — using letterforms to tell stories, shape spaces, and give words a visual presence.
Today, I create hand-drawn and digital lettering for signage, blackboard art, products, and illustrated storytelling, from physical spaces to the pages of illustrated books. Across every format, my work is guided by thoughtful craftsmanship, expressive typography, and deep respect for the story behind each project.
My practice is supported by focused professional training, including the Lettering Seminar with Martina Flor and commercial blackboard art formation with ByMadans.
Proceeds from my work help build long-term security for my daughters with special needs, supporting their path toward greater independence and a brighter future.
